"This week has left me with a multitude of impressions and experiences that will take some time to fully process. They will certainly enrich our educational work."

- German teacher, following 2014 study visit to The Gambia

Working alongside teachers from Spain and Kenya, the study visit took the form of a course which offered a fresh view on international development, including big questions about poverty and wealth, food and hunger, and sustainable development.

There were opportunities to see projects and initiatives in the Nairobi area, and to work collaboratively as part of an international teacher group group.

We learnt from each other’s perspectives, each one of which helped illuminate our understanding in new ways: inviting us to think critically about what we understand and how we learn, individually and interculturally.

Having returned to Europe we are beginning to apply these fresh understandings of ourselves, the world and intercultural understanding to our teaching.
